Cirrus Tech Partners with Group 3

Canadian Web hosting provider Cirrus Tech (cirrushosting.com) announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with Voice over IP solutions provider Group (group3.ca) to provide Web hosting solutions to support version 1.4 of Group 3's Asterisk software.
Cirrus Tech says that it is one of a few hosting companies out there that provides Web hosting solutions that incorporate Asterisk, a leading software used as a telephone engine and tool kit.
Through the partnership, Cirrus Tech and Group 3 have deployed a platform, namely the Linux Virtual Private Servers, which includes Asterisk and other tools such as FreePBX and TrixBox that enhance the functionalities of Asterisk.
which enables a number of attached telephones to make calls to one another and to connect to other telephone services including the public switched telephone network, says Cirrus Tech. Some of the ways Asterisk can be applied are as a switch when it's configured as the core of an IP or hybrid PBX, it can be built out as the heart of a media gateway and it can be applied in a feature and media center, network or call center environment.
