Go Daddy Finds New SpokesGirl
Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced over the weekend that its "Go Daddy Girl" Danica Patrick became the first woman in history to win an IndyCar Series race.
According to the press release, Patrick took the checkered flag at the Japan 300 in Motegi, near Tokyo, and finished more than five seconds ahead of Helio Castroveves after taking the lead with three laps to go.
"It's hard to put into words what it feels like to win. It's unbelievable," writes Patrick in her blog. "I have worked so hard, for so long, to reach this point. I'm sure it's going to take a little while for it to sink in."
Since joining the Go Daddy team as a company spokesperson in 2006, Patrick has gone to star in Go Daddy's notorious Super Bowl ads along with fellow "Go Daddy Girls" WWE diva Candice Michelle and Olympic swimming champion Amanda Beard. Patrick was featured in Go Daddy's most recent 2008 Super Bowl ad "Spot On" as well as one entitled "Exposure," which ended up being rejected by Fox television network but found its way to audiences online on Go Daddy's website.www.thewhir.com
