Go Daddy Sees Growth in SSL Shares
[04.01]
Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Thursday that its SSL market share has increased by 63 percent over the past year.
According to Netcraft, Go Daddy is currently ranked second in market share for SSL certificates issued at 16.4 percent and is also the leader for websites hosted with SSL certificates.
"Business owners are always looking for a great deal," says Bob Parsons, CEO and founder of Go Daddy. "Our certificates provide the identical functionality our higher-priced competitors offer. The big difference is we sell them at a fraction of the cost and we back them up with world-class support."
Go Daddy says that Microsoft also recently selected Go Daddy to provide the secure certificates for Windows Home Server, a new solution to help people protect, organize and share their digital content.
Earlier this week, Go Daddy said it will be participating in the upcoming 2008 CES International from January 7 to 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
